Bixiang, a single-reed gas-sounding instrument of the Blang ethnic group. Legend has it that the Bi of the Dai nationality was introduced to the Bulang people, and the Bulang people called the Dai people the xiang. Therefore, the Bixiang means the Bi of the Dai people.
When playing Bi phase, it can be blown horizontally or vertically, and the vertical blow is mostly used. The left hand is on the top, the thumb is pressed on the back hole, the index finger, middle finger, and ring finger are pressed on the three holes, and the right hand is on the bottom, and the index finger, middle finger, and ring finger are pressed on the three holes. Hold the reed in the mouth or place it between the lips, and both can be pronounced by blowing and sucking. Sound column: a1, b1, c2, d2, e2, f2, a2, the sound is soft and round. Can be used for solo entertainment or singing and dancing accompaniment. Both tones are melodious and tactful, and the two tones a and d are mostly decorated with Boeing, which makes the music more delicate and moving.
Most of the music comes from folk songs, but the musical style is very different from that of the Dai people. The tunes include "Zai La" (folk songs) and "Jian Fu Lai" (picking cotton songs).
