Western Henan Tune, also known as Xifu tune, is a school of Henan opera. In the early years, it was often performed in the mountainous areas of western Henan Province and around Luoyang, and people called it "backishan Roar". According to legend, the artists said that the Western Henan tune was handed down by a band of Jiang Men in Zhuxian Town during the reign of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty. Before the reign of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty, the tune of Xiangfu in western Henan was basically the same in terms of Banlu and singing. It was not until the end of Guangxu that the singing of "Lower five tones" was changed to "upper five tones" in eastern Henan. Since then, artists called the upper five-tone singing in Kaifeng and other places "Eastern Henan tone", while the lower five-tone singing in Luoyang was called "western Henan tone" and "Xifu tone" in order to distinguish them.
