Tashkurgan is a pearl on the Pamir Plateau in the vast Xinjiang Province, where there live the Tajik ethnic group known as "mountain eagles", the stone city of Tashkurgan was once the largest post station on the ancient Silk Road through the Onion Ridge (Pamir Plateau), where the music still retains ancient musical elements from the Middle East.
The soothing and quiet sound of pipes depicts the Pamir plateau, while the lute and Greek dulcimer play chords full of Tajik national customs, opening people's yearning for the mysterious Western regions. The sun shines brightly on Tashkurgan, and joyous rhythms echo across the plateau as Tajiks dance and sing. In the increasingly bright rhythm, enthusiastic dancing, hearty laughter, perhaps the Tashkurgan people's best comment on life. The pipe and the lute, the Greek triangle dulcgen blend together, close our eyes and listen, the music leads us to dream of the beautiful Tashkurgan, dream back to the ancient Silk Road.
