Dulong Bee-driving Tune
Folk music Nationality: Dulong Nationality Region: Yunnan
Honeycomb flute: Luo Fengxue
When wild bee hives are found, they stick bamboo sticks in the ground to show their belonging. This primitive custom is still preserved in the Dulong River Valley. On the hillsides of the Dulong River Valley, you can often see rows of hives made of logs by the Dulong people. In the close connection with nature, it has a unique way of interacting and communicating with everything. For example, when driving bees, it imitates the buzzing sound of big black bees flying and makes their unique honeycomb flute, which blows the "driving tone" and entices the black bees to fly away to get honey, and the melody is like a buzzing swarm of bees, gathering and dispersing at times.
