"Remembering the Old Man", also known as "Missing the Old Man in the Mountain" and "Remembering the Old Man in the Empty Mountain", is said to have been written by Cai Yong of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Today's music score is handed down by Peng Zhiqing, a famous modern musician. In 1937, Mr. Zhang Ziqian copied it and published it on the "Today's Yu Qin Journal".
At first, the overtone was exquisite, clear, and elegant, like the crystal clear dewdrops dripping from the branches, reflecting the quiet valley, with the moon cold and stars rare and sleepless. The sound of the qin touches the memories of the past, the melody fluctuates, the thoughts rise and fall, the emotions surge, as if tears fill the eyes. How many times have I dreamt of meeting each other at night, warming my wine on the stove and playing chess calmly? But now, far from the end of the world of hatred, I only want to ponder and ask: Will the green grass be green next year, and will the old man return?
