"Flying Flowers and Points of Green" is a traditional 68-board pipa piece, which is a representative piece of the Chongming School. The musical score first appeared in an old Jiangyin manuscript, titled "Twelve Wenban". In 1916, the score of "Yingzhou Ancient Diao" compiled by Shen Zhaozhou of the Chongming School in Haimen included this piece in it and wrote it down with Gongqi, which became one of the representative traditional Chinese tunes of the Chongming School. In the early 1820s, Mr. Liu Tianhua, a Chinese music master, rearranged and reorganized it. In 1928, he recorded the song at Shanghai Gaoting Record Company, and the song was widely circulated in the south.
From the point of view of musical design, the work "Flying Flowers and Diancui" highlights the highly generalized and lyrical artistic features of pipa literary music. It expresses the composer's surging inner emotions with a simple and moving melody; The fresh tone depicts the elegant and noble artistic conception of the frost and cold season, the wind blowing snowflakes reflecting the pines and cypresses, and the green pines and cypresses proud of flying snow.
