Miao drum dance "Martial Arts Drum" comes from the album "Music of China Map Hear Hunan Miao Folk Music Collection"
Drum Music of Kungfu
Folk Music: Miao Encouraging Ethnic Group: Miao Region: Xiangxi, Hunan
Drum: Liang Erlai, Liu Honglin
In 2003, Hong Fuqiang, the representative inheritor of Xiangxi Miao drum dance, a national Intangible cultural heritage, disassembled the moves in the Miao martial arts "Ba He Quan", deduced the dance movements, and created the "Ba He Drum" with martial arts characteristics. The emergence of martial arts drums has added a beautiful scenery to the colorful dance performances of the Miao ethnic group in Xiangxi.
The martial arts drum music has a bright rhythm and a resounding sound, soaring into the clouds. The vitality of brave struggle is contained in it, roaring towards the land of Xiangxi and the hearts of the Miao people. The dance posture combines hardness and softness, with one move of fierce wind hitting the ear, one move of Eight Immortals kneeling flat, and one move of Nine Turns Chain, creating a natural and elegant style. Due to the limited environment, the Miao family in Xiangxi used to live a difficult life with a prevailing martial spirit. Nowadays, the drums still convey the tenacity and resilience of life, and the majestic cries convey a hope and strength to move forward bravely.
