"Random Thoughts of Weicheng" was created by Wang Youdi in 2019. Its inspiration comes from the famous poem "Weicheng Song" handed down by Wang Wei, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, also known as "Sending Yuan Ershi to Anxi". "Weicheng is rainy and dusty in the morning, and the guest house is green and willows look new. I advise you to drink a glass of wine, and there is no old friend when you leave Yangguan in the west." The original poem expresses the author by describing the scenery of the northwest border and the scene of the author and old friends drinking together. A deep, deep heartfelt farewell. The verses are picturesque and become famous throughout the ages. Based on this theme, later generations wrote the famous Guqin song "Three Die at Yangguan", which repeatedly expressed the farewell to friends through the way of three arias. It has been included in many piano scores since the Ming Dynasty and has been handed down to this day.
"Random Thoughts of Weicheng" is an extension of traditional Guqin songs. The opening chapter draws on the clear and mellow sound of the guqin and the ethereal length played by the bamboo flute, depicting for the audience a vivid scroll of "solitary smoke in the desert, sunset on the long river, old friends drinking each other and saying goodbye". In the allegro part, the playing of the guqin and the bamboo flute became lively and lively, and a dialogue was launched, which seemed to show the local customs and customs of the people of the Western Regions where they started from Weicheng and traveled westward. At the end, the tune returns to a long and long, echoing tone of the whole song, the scene blends, the charm is meaningful and endless.
Exactly:
Weicheng's random thoughts began in the prosperous Tang Dynasty. At that time, Wang Wei was very sentimental.
A cup of wine to drink, the desert is desolate. Three layers of arias, the hometown of Yangguan.
